मध्यकालीन शिल्प का सर्वश्रेष्ठ उदाहरण है आमेर महल। जयगढ़ किले की पहाडी़ की दक्षिणी-पश्चिमी तलहटी मे एक पठारी चबूतरे पर स्थित इन महलों का निर्माण राजा मानसिंह प्रथम ने १७ वीं शताब्दी के आरम्भ मे करवाया था और सवाई जयसिंह द्वितीय के शासन काल तक इनका निर्माण कार्य चलता रहा था। दूधिया सफ़ेद रंग के ये महल हिन्दू और मुगल दोनो ही शैलियों से निर्मित हैं। इसके अन्दर के अधिकतर भाग महराजा मानसिंह द्वारा बनवाये गये हैं जो हिन्दू शिल्प शैली के सुन्दर उदाहरण हैं। इन महलों मे पुरानी राजपूत शिल्प का अच्छा सामन्जस्य है।यह महल कई छोटे छोटे अन्य भवनों का एक विशाल समूह है, जो कि पर्यटकों के लिये आकर्षण का केन्द्र है। पर्यटक यहाँ पहुँचने के लिये हाथी की सवारी द्वारा सिंहपोल और जलेब चौक तक जाते हैं।
